Labeau starts construction of LAB for Phalaenopsis propagation in Çanakkale, Turkey
Labeau announces that construction has started on a high-tech laboratory for the propagation of Phalaenopsis in Çanakkale, Turkey. The opening ceremony took place on April 16, with approximately 150 guests in attendance to celebrate the start of this new project. The LAB, the sixth in the Labeau series, is expected to propagate between 25 and 30 million Phalaenopsis plants, making it the largest laboratory in the world.
With the addition of the laboratory in Çanakkale, Turkey becomes the sixth location for Phalaenopsis tissue culture for Labeau. In addition to locations in Germany, Belgium, America, and Slovakia, Turkey not only offers the company the necessary additional production capacity, but also a strategic trading location. With more than a century of experience in plant propagation, Labeau understands exactly what requirements the new laboratory must meet. It promises to be a state-of-the-art, sustainable facility with a strong focus on the future.
During the ceremony, speeches were given by local ambassadors: the mayor, the chairman of the OIZ, and the local governor. This emphasizes the important economic development for the region. The laboratory will provide employment for more than 200 full-time employees. The opening of this new location is planned for the end of February 2025.
